Why volunteer
CAVS - Castle Point Association of Voluntary Services - is a local voluntary service organisation that relies on the goodwill of local people to help others within the community.
Volunteering offers a whole different world, opening doors to new experiences that can help you meet your personal goals, upskill and re-train, as well as helping others - with the chance to meet a new network of friends too.
It's not just a one-way street. People of all ages who volunteer for us say it enriches their own life as well as those they support. They feel valued, healthy and happy to be giving back, improving confidence and self-esteem.
We have a number of exciting volunteering opportunities across our services, including Befriending, Ways to Wellness / Admin, Family Mentoring and Group Help.

What to expect
We will talk through the roles available, what interests you and how much time you can give. All volunteers receive an induction, ongoing support from a named coordinator and reimbursement of agreed out-of-pocket expenses.
Roles that involve working with children or adults at risk require references and an enhanced DBS check - we will guide you through this and cover the cost.
