Volunteers / Trustees
We are part of the Volunteer Essex network and can advertise and promote your volunteering opportunities.
Governance
With good governance in place you never really have to worry about it. Whether you're setting up or fully operational, we can help you put the right policies and procedures in place, or act as a critical friend to review your current processes.
Finance
Looking after your organisation's finances can be a worry, but we can help you make sure everything is in place so that you and your funders are satisfied that everything is as it should be.
Training
We provide courses and training to voluntary and community organisations and groups, as well as sharing information about other free and low-cost training. Keep an eye on our social media for updates about upcoming courses and events.
Communication
Our Communications and Marketing Officer is always happy to help you share information about your services or events and to help you get started with your own marketing.
Governance - our support includes:
- Constitution and legal structure guidance
- Trustee roles and responsibilities
- Charity registration and compliance
- Review and development of essential policies (Safeguarding; Health and Safety; Equality, Diversity & Inclusion; GDPR/Data Protection; Volunteer Management)
- Support with risk assessments
My Essex Community
We also work with My Essex Community to support the community and voluntary sector, where there is a wealth of useful information on funding, training and support across the county.
Our networks - We are Better Together
By coming together we can share knowledge and experiences and work collaboratively to support our local communities. CAVS runs a number of networking opportunities for local groups and organisations - find information in our Community News and Workshops tab.
We rang CAVS about one policy and came away with a whole toolkit, two new partners and volunteers on the way.
